BIO-key’s new PortalGuard Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) Platform has picked up more customers within the academic community. The company has revealed that Barstow Community College and Southeastern Illinois College will both be implementing the solution, in the latter case confirming news that was previously announced back in January.
Both schools are using PortalGuard IDaaS to overhaul their identity and access management procedures. The solution provides faculty, students, and staff with single sign-on capabilities for a range of different academic and enterprise applications, while simultaneously reducing the administrative burden on IT departments.
“Many of our customers are opting for the benefits of IDaaS, and we are excited to extend our business relationships and provide this next-level IAM security service to them,” said BIO-key PortalGuard President Mark Cochran. “We have created a consultative partnership with our customers to help them meet their requirements for improving the end-user experience while delivering secure access to critical applications and data.”
PortalGuard IDaaS offers both on-premises and cloud access control utilities. The solution has proven to be extremely popular with schools in the California Community College System, with more than 55 schools having adopted it following a recent deployment at Mendocino College. Eastern Florida State College and Marion College are some of BIO-key’s other academic clients.
