Internet Telephony Magazine has recognized Aware’s Knomi solution with a 2020 IT Cybersecurity Excellence Award. Knomi is a mobile authentication offering that leverages device biometrics to eliminate passwords and guard against various cyberthreats.
Knomi originally debuted as a face-based authentication solution back in 2017. Aware has since expanded the platform to provide customers with multimodal capabilities, introducing support for voice recognition in May of 2020. The company has also released an on-device version of the platform (dubbed Knomi D) that does not need to refer to a template stored on a remote server in order to complete a match.
The IT Cybersecurity Excellence Awards, meanwhile, were set up to acknowledge cybersecurity solutions that can protect end users from hackers and threats. Internet Telephony Magazine is published by the Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC).
“Knomi has demonstrated outstanding quality and has delivered exceptional, measurable, tangible results for its users,” said TMC CEO Rich Tehrani.
“I am thrilled that Knomi was recognized for its effectiveness and mission to ensure the security of peoples’ identities and assets,” added Aware CCO Rob Mungovan. “Knomi protects the identity of the user, reduces fraud and helps to minimize the likelihood and the expense of security breaches. It is great to see that recognition continue with Internet Telephony’s Cybersecurity Excellence Award.”
In December, Aware updated Knomi to improve its performance for people who are wearing masks. Internet Telephony Magazine called particular attention to Knomi’s liveness detection tech, which received Level 1 and Level 2 certification from iBeta in September.
