authID announced that its PrivacyKey biometric identity platform delivered 472 percent growth in biometric enrollments from the third to fourth quarter of 2025 at one of the world’s largest retailers, with the deployment scaling more than fivefold while maintaining a 97.0 percent acceptance rate.
The company, which launched PrivacyKey with its zero-data-storage architecture using public-key cryptography to authenticate users without retaining biometric data, said 97.9 percent of users completed biometric verification on their first attempt. The retailer also saw 112 percent growth in accounts from new users and more than doubled its identity operations compared to the prior quarter.
“In just a few short months we’ve provided exceptional scale, efficiency, and user experience improvements,” CEO Rhon Daguro said. “Our customer realized strong operational upside across multiple regions globally, all the while delivering high completion rates and low operational friction.”
PrivacyKey stores only cryptographic keys in place of sensitive biometric data, with sub-second detection of photo spoofing, videos, and deepfakes to ensure only live humans with authentic physical identification pass verification. The platform was initially deployed to address failed password reset attempts and onboarding friction, and the retailer is now preparing for an expanded rollout to a wider user base following a successful quarterly review.
authID, which previously secured a major European retailer for workforce biometric verification, has been building its enterprise deployment track record across the retail sector. The company has also partnered with Prove on deepfake-resistant identity verification, combining biometric and digital identity technologies.
The growth metrics position authID’s privacy-preserving biometric approach as a viable alternative to traditional identity verification methods that require storing sensitive biometric templates, addressing compliance concerns under biometric privacy laws.
