This week saw IDEMIA‘s first appearance at Mobile World Congress since the company was formed through the merger of Safran Identity & Security and Oberthur Technologies last year. Accordingly, the digital security giant has taken the opportunity to make a big splash: Describing IDEMIA’s MWC showing to FindBiometrics President Peter O’Neill in an on-site interview, Guillaume Yribarren, VP, IDEMIA explains that the company has established multiple booths, each one showcasing an IDEMIA specialty, from IoT connectivity to connected car technology, to mobile digital identity solutions.
From there, the two discuss the latest development in one of IDEMIA’s longest-running partnerships, and the importance of long-term relationships in which IDEMIA and its clients can tackle problems on an end-to-end basis. Yribarren then offers his view of what’s in store for 2018, noting that IDEMIA’s integration efforts since last year’s merger will result in a shared head office in Paris this year, and that his team expects “major opportunities” to emerge from regulatory changes like the European Union’s incoming PSD2 and GDPR frameworks.
