Mobile banking platform Arya now supports fingerprint and facial recognition.
Developed by VSoft Corporation, Arya is meant to offer an open platform that can be leveraged by various financial services organizations to enable easy, straightforward banking services on end users’ mobile devices. Accordingly, VSoft sought out an intuitive, easy-to-use means of authentication security, and found it in fingerprint and facial biometrics.
In a statement announcing the new functionality, VSoft CEO Murthy Veeraghanta asserted, “Biometric authentication addresses both the security demands of today’s modern consumer and the speed at which banking and transactions need to occur,” adding that banks’ ability to adapt to these kinds of new technologies is important to their current and long-term success.
Fingerprint scanning is, of course, supported across a wide range of smartphones and tablets at this point. Meanwhile, Arya’s support for facial recognition comes by way of the iPhone X and its new Face ID authentication system. In enabling Face ID authentication, Arya has become one of a growing roster of third party mobile platforms that have chosen to take advantage of Apple’s pioneering new security system.
