Voice biometrics developer ValidSoft has announced a major new contract. While the company has declined to name its new customer, it has indicated that it’s a major US-based corporation with over 100,000 employees around the world.
The client will use ValidSoft’s User Authentication Platform to authenticate employees when they’re working remotely, and to provide access control for their work-related IT systems. The contract is notable for its large scale, and, according to ValidSoft, for the rigour of the client’s selection process.
Speaking in a press release, ValidSoft CEO Paul Burmester said ValidSoft’s system “was chosen after an intense review of competitive solutions, including the incumbent provider and market share leader in voice biometrics.” He called the contract “a major milestone for ValidSoft and an important validation of our voice biometric technology and User Authentication Platform”.
It’s the second major contract for ValidSoft in this year alone, following closely on the heels of the company’s recent deal to have its Device Trust solution integrated by a major UK bank. It isn’t yet clear what sector the new US-based client specializes in, but it seems a fair bet that it, too, is related to financial services, given the popularity of voice biometric technology in that area. Then again, the Internet of Things is really starting to blow up, and voice biometrics is seen as integral to a range of IoT user interfaces, so that is another strong possibility. In any case, it’s good news for ValidSoft.
