FST Biometrics has received Lenel certification for the latest version of its In Motion Identification (IMID) biometric authentication system.
FST Biometrics first joined the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance program in summer of 2014. Its latest certification, for IMID Access 3.6, ensures that the company’s flagship platform remains compatible with Lenel’s OnGuard access control system.
In a statement announcing the latest certification, Lenel OAAP Director of Strategic Alliances Zach Roth lauded the IMID platform for giving users “the benefit of not needing to slow down or stop in order to be identified;” allowing them to “walk through access points and be identified quickly and accurately for efficient, secure access.”
The IMID platform identifies registered individuals primarily via gait and facial recognition, with an optional voice-based capability. Earlier this year, it won the 2017 SIA New Product Showcase award for Best User Authentication, Identification, Credentialing and Management Product.
