FST Biometrics is celebrating a big win at this year’s ISC West security conference.
Its IMID Access 4.0 platform was recognized in the 2017 SIA New Product Showcase, winning the award for Best User Authentication, Identification, Credentialling and Management Product; and it won in the Access Control – Biometrics category of Security Today’s Govies awards.
The company’s IMID platform – short for In Motion Identification – relies primarily on facial and behavioral biometrics to enable passive biometric authentication, with an additional voice recognition component available as well. Aimed primarily at the access control market, it has seen a wide range of deployments, from private social and athletic clubs to the Israel Diamond Exchange.
In a statement, SIA CEO Don Erickson said that this year’s New Product Showcase awards had seen many new entrants as well as companies returning with upgraded products, and congratulated FST Biometrics on its win “in a very competitive year.” Commenting on the industry recognition, FST Biometrics CEO Arie Melamed said it “demonstrates that we have successfully overcome barriers to broad adoption of biometric visual identification.”
The awards come not long after FST Biometrics won the 2016 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Visionary Innovation Leadership last autumn.
