“…Software Group boasts of a client network spanning 65 countries and including the International Finance Corporation, the Asian Development Bank, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.”
Software Group, an IT services provider focused on the financial services sector, is integrating Applied Recognition‘s Ver-ID facial recognition technology into its solutions portfolio.
Designed to operate through a standard smartphone camera, Ver-ID was also embraced by Toronto-based IT services firm CognoSystems earlier this year. The solution attained a Cross-Over Error rate of only 0.2 percent in NIST testing toward the end of last summer, suggesting it offers considerable efficacy in biometric authentication.
With its integration into the Software Group solutions portfolio, Ver-ID could reach many more end users. Software Group boasts of a client network spanning 65 countries and including the International Finance Corporation, the Asian Development Bank, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Commenting on his firm’s embrace of Ver-ID in a statement, Software Group CEO pointed to a growing demand for biometric security, asserting that “[b]iometrics is quickly becoming a mainstream technology,” and adding later, “we see face recognition provoking more and more interest in our clients”. For Applied Recognition’s part, co-CEO Don Waugh said the firm is “pleased” about the Software Group partnership, and that Applied Recognition looks forward to “helping them to demonstrate that security and compliance can go hand-in-hand with innovation and growth.”
