Zwipe continues to build its customer base in Africa and the Middle East. The company has signed a new partnership with NetPS, a card personalization specialist that is active in 15 countries across Africa. NetPS itself is based out of Morocco.
The new deal specifically concerns Zwipe’s certified Pay ONE solution for biometric payment cards. Together, Zwipe and NetPS will work to promote Pay ONE cards to the banks and card issuers in NetPS’s client network. The company is part of the broader dzcard Group, which partnered with Zwipe to bring biometric cards to the Southeast Asian market back in 2019.
NetPS currently provides services for more than 30 financial institutions in the region. Banque Central Populaire, Société Générale, Credit Agricole du Maroc, Attijariwafa Bank, and Al Barid Bank are some of the company’s biggest clients. Maroc Telecom has also taken advantage of NetPS’s services.
“We believe adding biometric payment cards to our portfolio creates a compelling and differentiating product to our clients,” said NetPS CEO Younes Lahlou. “We are looking forward to working with the Zwipe team on some innovative card designs, fulfillment solutions and enrolment options. We believe this new product will drive new business and significantly uplift customer loyalty for our clients.”
“We are pleased with the response across the Middle East and North Africa for Zwipe Pay ONE and are delighted to partner with NetPS in extending our reach to Morocco and beyond,” added Zwipe CEO André Løvestam. “With this partnership, our dzcard Group relationship is strengthened further, giving us the opportunity to deliver next generation payment cards to the many banks looking for a more safe and secure payment card in the region.”
The NetPS partnership reflects Zwipe’s growing interest in Africa and the Middle East. The company teamed up with the Mauritius-based card personalization provider ICPS in July, and then came to a similar agreement with the Abu Dhabi fintech start-up Nymcard in September.
