Zwipe is looking to increase its presence in India through a new partnership with sKarn RoboticS. sKarn was only founded in 2019, though it has already caught the eye of Indian administrators and was named as the government’s Global Revolutionary Founder of the Year and the Global Innovative Product of the Year in 2021.
The partnership with Zwipe, meanwhile, covers both access control and payment applications. sKarn will order biometric cards from manufacturers that are part of Zwipe’s extensive international partner ecosystem, and then leverage that technology to grow its business in India. The company will release co-branded biometric payment cards, and market biometric access cards to private and public organizations that want to strengthen their security.
On that front, sKarn’s is initially planning to issue a few thousand cards to interested clients during a pilot that will begin in the third quarter of the year. The company will then scale up to a full rollout shortly after, assuming that all goes well with the pilot. sKarn will offer the cards alongside the other products in its WeCript security portfolio.
“Our mission is to provide highly secured digital services that significantly empower end-users with top rated privacy, security and digital experience,” said ‘The Karn’, the Founder and COO of sKarn RoboticS. “Zwipe’s extremely secure biometric payment and access control cards strongly complement our core values and fit perfectly in the WeCript ecosystem.”
“It is great to see an ambitious and fast-moving high-tech security solution provider recognize the value of biometric cards for its customers,” added Zwipe CEO André Løvestam. “We are looking forward to our collaboration with sKarn RoboticS and their customers.”
Zwipe tweaked its biometric payment card technology to support access control applications at the tail end of 2021, and believes that a diverse portfolio will be critical to its growth in 2022. The company also selected Masterline as its Strategic Business Partner in India back in April.
