Zwipe Extends European Reach with Plasticard, Ermes Srl Agreements

Plasticard – ZFT, a manufacturer of plastic cards, smart cards, and ID media, has partnered with Zwipe to distribute biometric access cards in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

“Recognizing the increasing demand for safety and security, we are pleased to announce our partnership with Zwipe and its innovative biometric card technology,” said Christian Reuther, Managing Director of Plasticard – ZFT. “This partnership marks a significant enhancement to our portfolio, as Zwipe Access offers two-factor authentication using biometrics sensor and matching on card.”

The collaboration aims to address the increasing demand for enhanced safety and security in access control solutions. Zwipe Access, the card-based fingerprint access control solution, ensures that the cardholder’s biometric data never leaves the card, providing heightened data privacy and eliminating the need for biometric databases.

The news comes after Zwipe announced a seperate partnership earlier this month, in that case with Ermes Srl. An identification and security solutions provider, Ermes Srl has agreed to distribute Zwipe’s Biometric Access Cards in Italy.

Established in 2005, Ermes Srl specializes in identification and security solutions, catering to large companies and government agencies with tailored products and services. The firm has placed an initial order for Zwipe Demo Kits to showcase the technology to potential end users.
