“Like the original ZUK Z2 and the more recent ZUK Z2 Rio, the new device uses an FPC1155 sensor model to enable fingerprint scanning.”
Lenovo-owned smartphone brand ZUK has launched another iteration of its ZUK Z2 smartphone, and the device once again features biometric hardware from Fingerprint Cards. The latest device is called the ZUK Z2 Plus, and was launched in India today.
Like the original ZUK Z2 and the more recent ZUK Z2 Rio, the new device uses an FPC1155 sensor model to enable fingerprint scanning. It’s a reflection of Lenovo’s commitment to incorporating fingerprint sensors on all of its new smartphones – an aspiration that itself is the product of market trends indicating that such biometric technology is an increasingly standard feature of new mobile devices.
For FPC, the integration marks another contribution to its now very reliable revenue stream from mobile integrations, with ZUK being one of various smartphone companies that have become repeat customers of FPC. Meanwhile, the company is working to expand beyond the mobile biometrics market into new areas such as the automotive sector and smart cards.
