A new smartphone from China-based ZTE is once again taking advantage of biometric technology from Fingerprint Cards and Precise Biometrics. The ZTE V7 Max features an FPC1145 fingerprint sensor running Precise BioMatch Mobile technology.
Though it uses a different FPC sensor model, it’s similar to the setup that ZTE used in its Axon smartphones last year. Those devices helped the mobile OEM to to receive accolades as one of IDG’s Global Top Brands at last year’s Consumer Electronics Show, an accomplishment in which FPC and Precise Biometrics can to some degree share, given their technologies’ contribution.
FPC sensors running Precise Biometrics algorithm software have also appeared in a range of other mobile devices as the companies have capitalized on the rising popularity of mobile biometrics. Now, having firmly established leading positions as suppliers to smartphone OEMs, both companies are looking to other sectors such as smart cards for expansion.
