ZKTeco has released a new infrared thermometer that will make it easier to take the temperatures of large numbers of individuals. The thermometer has been dubbed the TD100, and it is intended to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases.
To that end, the standalone device is geared towards malls, theaters, schools, hospitals, and other indoor facilities with large amounts of traffic. The portable TD100 can be moved based on the needs of venue operators, and can be placed at security checkpoints to supplement other access control solutions. The device comes with a relay board that can be configured to open a door, or to send an alert if it detects someone with an elevated temperature.
The TD100 will keep count of the number of people who walk past the device, as well as the number of people running a fever. Venue operators can choose whether or not they want the device to display people’s temperature readings while they are walking past.
The new solution arrives shortly after ZKTeco augmented some of its access control readers with temperature and mask detection capabilities. BioSec, everis, and Hytera are amongst the other companies that have introduced thermal screening in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
