ZKTeco Adds QR Code-based Visitor Authentication to Portfolio

ZKTeco USA has added QR code-based One Time Password authentication technology from V-Authenticate to its solutions portfolio. It’s the product of a new distribution partnership between the companies.

Based in Mumbai with an additional office in New York, V-Authenticate offers a flagship solution called the Visitor Authentication and Management System, or VAMS. Aimed at helping organizations to confirm the identities of visitors to their premises, the solution allows administrators to send their guests a scannable QR code or an OTP via text or email, allowing them to quickly and immediately authenticate upon arrival using their smartphone.

It’s an approach that complements ZKTeco’s array of biometric access control systems and other solutions; accordingly, the companies’ partnership will see ZKTeco USA offer the VAMS solution to its customers.

In a statement announcing the partnership, V-Authenticate CEO Nikhil Kothary asserted that his firm has already “seen tremendous adoption” of the VAMS solution, but added that through the partnership with ZKTeco, “we additionally gain access to the thousands of physical and logical security installers currently partnering with ZKTeco.” Kothary added that the VAMS solution is “very affordable”, expressing confidence that it “will do well in ZKTeco’s sales channel.”
