Biometric and RFID security solutions provider ZKAccess has launched a new version of its biometric door lock. Called the ML10-B, the product offers the same features and functionality as the ML10 door lock released this spring, but also features Bluetooth technology that enables a remote control function.
Together with a new mobile application called ZKBioBT, the Bluetooth technology allows authorized users to remotely lock or unlock a secured door. The app also allows administrators to configure their security systems in detail, by adding the names of authorized personnel, establishing set times during which certain users have access, and viewing activity logs detailing when users have accessed a given area. While the basis of ZKAccess’s door lock is fingerprint authentication, ZKBioBT relies instead on passwords.
Larry Reed, CEO of ZKAccess, comments: “The ZKBioBT app is extremely secure. Prior to launching the app and connecting to an ML10-B fingerprint door lock, the user is prompted for their password. This new mobile app provides the added level of security and convenience our customers were asking for.”
ZKAccess became independent from its parent company ZKTeco this past spring and has since been actively releasing new solutions and updates. The new device follows quickly on the company’s introduction in August of the FV 350 multimodal access control device, as well as a major update to its ZKTeco access control software.
