“…Lenel appears increasingly interested in biometric technologies…”
ZKAccess has received Lenel factory certification, the companies have announced. The credential allows users of Lenel’s OnGuard access control system to integrate ZKAccess’ biometric readers into their security infrastructure.
More specifically, the certification makes ZKAccess’ OP-200 fingerprint scanner compatible with Lenel’s OnGuard v7.0, 7.1, or 7.2. But in a statement announcing the integration, ZKAccess COO and Product Manager Manish Dalal suggested that it’s just one of multiple new models in the company’s Opera line that are designed to work with OnGuard, so further integrations may be in the pipeline.
For Lenel’s part, the certification “allows Lenel end-users to easily and economically add and manage fingerprint readers to their network,” said Zach Roth, adding that by bringing biometric technology options to its customers’ security networks Lenel “provides an opportunity to improve their facility security while also providing employees the convenience of no longer needing to carry badges or memorize PIN codes to gain door access.”
Indeed, Lenel appears increasingly interested in biometric technologies, having also certified Iris ID’s iCAM solutions for OnGuard integration last spring.
