Biometric solutions provider ZKAccess is seeking to team up with a leading biometrics expert from the world of academia.
The company recently hosted Michigan State University professor Dr. Anil Jain for a talk at ZKTeco headquarters in Shenzhen, China. The company says about 200 staff members from ZKTeco and ZKAccess attended the talk, in which Dr. Jain spoke generally about the evolution and state of the art of biometric technology. And future collaborations with Dr. Jain are now “in the planning stages,” the company said in a statement.
Such efforts would complement previous collaborative work, with Dr. Jain having helped ZKAccess to develop fingerprint recognition solutions for patients in pediatric medicine. Meanwhile, in his academic work, Dr. Jain has helped to develop sophisticated biometric technology, at least some of which has been licensed to NEC Corporation of America.
As such, Dr. Jain could again be a major asset to ZKAccess. As ZKAccess CEO Larry Reed put it, “The union of his impressive research capabilities and technological advancements and ZKTeco’s extensive manufacturing capabilities and global reach can be instrumental in bringing affordable and advanced biometric solutions to the masses.”
