Yoti Joins Point de Contact Association to Help Fight Child Abuse

Yoti will be taking on a more active role in the fight against child sexual abuse as the latest member of the Point de Contact association. Point de Contact was founded in 1998 to report material that depicts child sexual abuse and stop the distribution of illegal content online.

As a member of the association, Yoti will be providing its partners with access to its free Yoti app in addition to its Yoti Age Scan system, which uses AI to estimate the ages of people who are not registered in the Yoti system. The technology will make it easier for businesses and other organizations to conduct secure age checks while still respecting people’s privacy.

Yoti has consistently displayed an interest in using its technology to protect young populations. The company’s Age Scan is already being used to conduct age checks on Yubo’s youth-oriented social media platform, and to facilitate the sale of age restricted goods like alcohol. Yoti is also an accepted form of age verification for people accessing adult websites in Germany and the UK.
