Yardstik has raised $30 million in a Series B led by Harbert Growth Partners, bringing the Minneapolis workforce screening company’s total capital raised to $65 million.
Existing investors Rally Ventures, MissionOG, Crosslink Capital, Grotech Ventures and Great North Ventures all took part. Yardstik said the money will go toward fraud prevention and monitoring technology, including motor vehicle reports, OIG exclusion monitoring and automated alerts when a worker’s licence, insurance or certification expires.
The company’s argument is that background screening is built around a single moment. It cites a 2026 Association of Certified Fraud Examiners report finding that the typical occupational fraud scheme runs 12 months before detection, and that 43 percent of cases surface through a tip.
“The legacy background check industry was built around a single moment in time, even though workforce risk changes every day,” said Andrew Johnson, CEO of Yardstik.
Yardstik recently made two features standard for every customer at no extra cost. Fraud Insights gives a live view of aggregate fraud risk signals across a workforce. Continuous Monitoring automatically enrolls screened workers in post-hire monitoring, cutting manual rechecks.
On the identity side, the platform runs fraud signals before a background check is ordered, which the company positions as a defence against fabricated applicants. Nic DeHaan, Senior Director of Agent Experience at Liveops, said Yardstik “has helped us take a more proactive approach to identifying fake identities and credentials.”
Yardstik reported 149 percent year-over-year revenue growth and a 99.4 percent customer satisfaction rating. Brian Carney, General Partner at Harbert Growth Partners, cited a 98 percent account retention rate over the past three years.
Customers include Gopuff, Liveops, Sharetown, Task Rabbit and HUNGRY, drawn from gig marketplaces, staffing, healthcare, transportation and logistics, and childcare. The platform integrates with applicant tracking and HR systems including Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Fountain, Bullhorn, Avionte and Paylocity, and its API lets marketplaces white-label the screening and monitoring underneath their own brands.
Founded in 2020, Yardstik operates under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The raise follows two acquisitions in the same segment this month. Checkr acquired Truv for income and employment verification in August, and Deel bought Clarity to add deepfake detection across hiring and workforce identity.
