CLEAR’s biometric access control system is coming to Yankee Stadium in New York, the company has announced. In a statement, CLEAR asserted that as a company based in New York, its staff are particularly excited about the deployment.
The system will begin operations on August 7, offering free enrollment to sports fans while those who are already CLEAR members – from its fast-tracking programs at airports, for example – will already be signed up automatically. CLEAR’s Fast Access system uses the company’s Fast Touch Technology, a fingerprint recognition system, to quickly authenticate individuals for access control purposes. While it serves an obvious security component, it’s also intended to speed up entry, especially in crowd-heavy situations like those found at major sports stadiums and, of course, airports.
The same system was also recently deployed at Denver’s Coors Field stadium, and these deployments are taking place alongside an expansion of CLEAR’s eGates at American airports. The company’s efforts are helping to normalize biometric screening and access control systems in public settings, just as other companies are bringing similar systems to athletic clubs, luxury rental properties, and other commonplace settings.
