Xperix has signed a memorandum of understanding with Alyam Technical Trading to pursue biometric identity and electronic-document projects for Saudi government and public-sector customers.
The South Korean biometric technology company and its Saudi partner plan to identify opportunities, prepare bids and proposals, and cooperate on implementation and operation when projects are secured. Their stated areas of work include biometric systems, document-based digital identification and border control.
Alyam selected Xperix as its Korean biometric partner after reviewing the company’s products, project history and international experience. The Saudi company reports 17 years in business, more than 200 completed projects and over 50 customers across areas including airports, passports, immigration and law enforcement.
The MOU gives the parties an exclusive relationship for Saudi public-sector biometric and electronic-document projects during its term. Xperix and Alyam agreed not to pursue competing partners or solutions in that defined field, although the announcement does not state how long the exclusivity will last.
Xperix identified several products that could form part of future bids. They include the RealScan-FC fingerprint capture device, the RealScan SG10 ten-print scanner and the RealPass-N identity document reader, which the company says complies with the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Doc 9303 specifications for machine-readable travel documents.
The SG10 was introduced as a compact scanner meeting the FBI’s FAP 60 image-quality requirements. That equipment gives the partnership a live-scan option for enrollment and identification projects that require capture of four fingers or a complete set of tenprints.
The Saudi agreement extends Xperix’s recent partnership strategy for regulated markets. The company previously partnered with Polaris AI on biometric and digital authentication for financial and public-sector systems in South Korea.
Xperix has also been expanding the capture hardware behind those projects, including the compact FBI-certified RealScan SG10. The Alyam relationship gives it a local route into Saudi procurement and integration work.
