Worldcoin is introducing its World ID orb verification service in Ecuador, starting on June 26 in Guayaquil and June 27 in Quito.
The service allows individuals aged 18 and older to verify their World ID at designated locations, joining the existing network of nearly 6 million participants globally. The verification locations and operating hours will be available on the World App and the Worldcoin website starting June 24.
Ecuador joins other Latin American countries, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru, in offering World ID orb verification services. The expansion comes amid increasing global support for technologies that can distinguish humans from bots. Surveys indicate strong backing for such technologies in various countries, with 92 percent of respondents in Ecuador supporting technology-based solutions to differentiate humans from bots.
The launch in Ecuador aligns with Worldcoin’s broader regional strategy, which includes significant investment in Argentina. Worldcoin aims to establish Argentina as a regional hub, with plans to open 50 World ID orb verification locations there across more than 10 cities and create professional opportunities for local developers and tech specialists.
Amid Argentina’s severe inflation, Worldcoin’s investment offers an appealing financial alternative, potentially expanding its market presence in a country seeking financial stability.
