Eptura has announced new workplace technology solutions, with a prominent focus on enhanced security through biometric capabilities. Among its latest offerings, Eptura is previewing a secure visitor check-in system that uses facial recognition technology. The feature is designed to streamline the identity verification process at front offices and restricted areas, automatically validating visitor identities through real-time facial scans at lobby kiosks.
Alongside the biometric enhancements, Eptura introduced Eptura Envision, a data analytics tool that consolidates information on occupancy, real estate, and asset data. The company has also streamlined its platform interface, unifying access to various tools through a single login page. And to support real-time monitoring of space usage, Eptura has integrated its system with Freespace sensors and Fortinet switches, allowing businesses to visualize occupancy and availability in real-time.
In addition to these features, Eptura has expanded its building information modeling (BIM) capabilities within the Archibus suite, supporting digital twins and 3D BIM visualization.
Eptura says it will roll out these innovations through the rest of 2024 and into 2025.
Founded in late 2022, Eptura offers software solutions for workplaces, people, and assets. It has already built a base of more than 16,000 customers, and the company says that client base includes 40 percent of the Fortune 500.
The company’s decision to incorporate biometrics – alongside other AI-driven tools – in its latest product announcements appears to signal an increasing acceptance of biometric solutions for security, efficiency, and convenience in the corporate sector. The move suggests that more organizations are viewing biometrics as a viable means of enhancing workplace security and streamlining operations, likely due to advancements in accuracy and the rising comfort levels around digital identity verification.
