WISECUBE and ONEPROOF Launch Hybrid ID Scanner for Physical and Mobile Driver’s License Verification

WISECUBE Inc. and ONEPROOF Inc. have introduced the WiseScan600V, a desktop identity verification device that combines physical ID authentication with embedded mobile driver’s license (mDL) verification in a single unit. The companies describe it as the first commercially available scanner to integrate both capabilities through hardware, rather than requiring separate devices for physical credentials and digital IDs.

The WiseScan600V’s mDL functionality is powered by ONEPROOF’s Embedded SDK, built to the ISO/IEC 18013-5 international standard for mobile driver’s licenses. The standard defines how mDLs are issued, stored, and verified, and has emerged as the baseline for interoperable digital credential verification across the United States and internationally.

ONEPROOF, which operates North America’s largest commercial mDL verification network across more than 15,000 devices in 7,500 locations, is supplying the verification infrastructure under the hood. WISECUBE provides the scanning hardware platform, with its San Diego-based engineering team having designed the system for high-speed processing and enterprise integration.

“Until now, no single device could authenticate a physical driver’s license and verify a mobile driver’s license in one scan,” said Jongkook Lah, CEO of WISECUBE. “The WiseScan600V changes that. By integrating ONEPROOF’s Embedded SDK directly into our scanner, we’ve built the industry’s first hybrid device with embedded mDL support delivering the speed, accuracy, and compliance that enterprises demand.”

Madhu Goundla, CEO of ONEPROOF, said demand is accelerating. “Mobile driver’s licenses are rapidly becoming mainstream, and businesses need simple, reliable hardware to accept them,” he said. “WISECUBE has built exactly that with the WiseScan600V.”

The device is intended for organizations in retail, hospitality, gaming, entertainment, age-restricted commerce, and public services — sectors where verifying both physical and digital credentials is increasingly required. The system is designed to connect to existing enterprise infrastructure, allowing organizations to add mDL acceptance without replacing their current verification workflows.

The launch arrives as mobile driver’s licenses gain broader acceptance across U.S. institutions, including at federal checkpoints. Several states have issued mDLs to residents, and adoption has accelerated following federal guidance affirming their validity alongside physical REAL ID-compliant documents. Hardware vendors have been racing to offer readers capable of processing both credential types, with companies like TokenWorks having also introduced all-in-one ID scanners supporting digital and physical IDs.

WISECUBE describes the WiseScan600V as a turnkey solution for large-scale deployment, engineered for the transition period in which physical driver’s licenses and mDLs coexist. Full product details and a brochure are available at wisecube.com.
