China-based smartphone maker Vivo has been teasing its new Vivo X6 smartphone, with two recent images suggesting a December 6th release date, and that it will feature a fingerprint scanner.
The device will be available in gold, silver, black, grey, and pink color options, and will feature a display in the 5-5.2″ range. It’s going to sport a metal chassis, and is expected to have dual SIM card support. Vivo’s custom FunTouch UI operating system will run on top of Android Lollipop, and the device will offer 4GB of RAM. It’s also expected to run on the forthcoming MediaTek Helio X20 processor.
Little else is publicly known about the device, including its price; but given the advanced specifications and its powerful processor, it’s a fair bet that the device will be in the upper range of the price spectrum. With that in mind, its inclusion of a fingerprint sensor is no surprise, as this is quickly becoming a standard feature on upper-range smartphones, and is increasingly prominent further down the spectrum as well.
