Here’s What’s on the Agenda for the FindBiometrics Travel & Hospitality Online Summit

The FindBiometrics Travel and Hospitality Online Summit is only a few days away! Those who tune in on May 18 will be treated to an incredible lineup of speakers from every segment of the travel and hospitality space, beginning with a live opening keynote from Nick van Straten, the Biometrics Program Director for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

In his keynote, van Straten will be discussing some of the ways in which KLM is using biometrics to improve the travel experience. Philippe Faure, Thales’ Head of Airport and Airline Biometric Solutions, will elaborate on airport efficiencies and biometrics in our next presentation.

From there, we turn to the sports and entertainment space for a panel discussion presented in collaboration with IIFX. Guests include Wicket CEO Sanjay Manandhar and consultant and “Data Diva” Debbie Reynolds, who will be addressing some of the challenges that stadium and arena operators are currently trying to deal with, and explaining how biometrics can make a trip to the game safer and more convenient.

After that, we’ll wrap up the morning session with a pair of presentations from Jay Meier and Audrey Hall. Meier is the SVP of North American Operations for FaceTec, and will be discussing potential uses of mobile and digital IDs in the travel space. Hall, meanwhile, is the CPO for Brightwell, and will walk guests through a case study that shows how the cruise industry is using biometrics to protect the financial security of crew members.

The afternoon kicks off with a discussion with Troy Brown, the Vice President of Stadium Operations for the Cleveland Browns. Brown will be discussing the team’s current use of biometric tech, and hinting at some of the other new innovations that could be coming in the next few years.

Our next two panels will look at biometrics at the government level. IDEMIA Travel and Transport SVP Lisa Sullivan will be discussing the use of biometrics at the border with representatives from US Customs and Border Protection, while Iris ID VP Tim Meyerhoff will be taking a closer look at biometrics in law enforcement with the Acting Assistant Section Chief of Biometric Services

Industry analysts Maxine Most and Danielle VanZandt will then take to the stage. Most will be detailing a new paradigm of for trust in digital identity, while VanZandt will be discussing the impact of COVID-19 on the hospitality business.

The day will wrap up with a presentation from NEC CPO Micah Willbrand, and a roundtable discussion featuring members of the IBIA. Willbrand and Faure will sit at the roundtable with Iris ID VP Mohammed Murad and IDEMIA Travel and Transport Senior Principal John Bernard for a high-level conversation on the past, present, and future of biometrics in air travel.
