VSBLTY Provides Thermal Screening Technology for Office Buildings

VSBLTY is continuing to advance its thermal screening initiatives to help combat COVID-19. The company previously announced that it would be developing a temperature detection camera in collaboration with Photon-X, and it will now be delivering a thermal screening solution through a new partnership with an unnamed “cyber security product and building services company.”

Customers of that company will be able to deploy the VSBLTY technology to scan people as they enter office buildings and other venues. Fever is a common symptom of COVID-19, so denying entry to anyone with an elevated temperature can potentially slow the spread of the disease.

After that, the system will continue to monitor people once they are inside the building. It will send an alert to building management if it detects someone with a fever, and track capacity to make sure that people are still observing social distancing requirements.

The VSBLTY solution also boasts facial recognition capabilities. It can therefore be used for more traditional access control to ensure that unauthorized individuals are not able to gain entry to secure areas.

“In order to get the economy running again it is critical to assure workplace safety for both employers and employees,” said VSBLTY Co-Founder and CEO Jay Hutton. “We now have technology that provides wellness analysis, capacity management and density metrics to allow for real time building safety. This will enable buildings to provide safe access for workers and guests more quickly and efficiently.”

The news comes shortly after VSBLTY formed a strategic partnership with UST Global in an effort to market its computer vision technology to the international retail industry. In the meantime, VSBLTY is one of several companies offering thermal screening products in response to COVID-19. Telpo recently released a new temperature detection terminal, while everis added temperature screening to its own facial recognition portfolio.
