Vision-Box has just completed a major driver license project in Lithuania.
Together with IT integrator ATEA, the company has provided new license issuance and management technology to Registra, the state enterprise charged with overseeing driver license issuance. The new system uses vb e-pass desktop and kiosk systems to capture drivers’ facial biometrics and digital signatures. In addition to the technologies’ sophisticated biometric capture, they’re also designed to enable ease of use, with features like a camera that automatically adjusts to the subject’s height, and animated instructions displayed on-screen for users.
In a statement announcing the successful deployment, Registra deputy director Saulius Šuminas said Vision-Box’s technology has led to a “great improvement in driving license issuing times and customer satisfaction,” adding that it’s “very intuitive for our customers and a very powerful tool for our employees.”
While Vision-Box is by now more well-known for the airport screening deployments of its biometric automation technology, the Registra deployment demonstrates its versatility.
