Vision-Box has won a major new accolade for its border control technology. At the inaugural Radiant eID Awards, organized by the Asia Pacific Smart Card Association, Vision-Box’s Aruba Happy Flow project won the Radiant Pioneer Award.
Aruba Happy Flow is a joint project undertaken with the Aruba Government, the Aruba Queen Beatrix International Airport, the Dutch Government, KLM, and Schiphol Airport. Its aim was to make every aspect of travelers’ journeys through the participating airports fully self-service using innovative technologies such as biometric security screening for passengers. And the project was evidently a success, given the Radiant eID Award; indeed, for its part Vision-Box asserts in a press release that Aruba Happy Flow “has in fact turned into a world reference,” with Happy Flow on a course to become “an industry standard”.
The project is a fulfilment of a vision put forward by the company early in 2014, and the new award lends Vision-Box further credibility as its border solutions gain a higher profile: this past fall, it installed a biometric eGate system at an important Schengen border, for example, and as Europe’s migrant crisis continues to unfold while concerns about terrorism persist around the globe, Vision-Box could see ramped up demand for its solutions going forward. Meanwhile, given the success of Aruba Happy Flow, airport operators will likely be increasingly interested in the business benefits of the company’s technology.
