Viscount Systems, fresh off of its announcement of a number of contracts received to deploy its physical access control solutions in a Canadian municipality, has just been awarded a contract in Puerto Rico to supply its Freedom access control offering to a US Federal Government buildings.
President and CEO of Viscount, Stephen Pineau, comments on the deployment: “Over the past year we have continued to harden the Freedom platform and expand our functionality. With our recent US GSA approved product listing and other efforts to expand compliance with US Government regulations we expect to see US Federal sales to continue to become an important market for our Freedom technology.”
Earlier in October, Viscount was selected by the US Government to provide the same solution to Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota. Freedom is one of three offerings that Viscount offers in the area of physical access control. It is FIPS-201 compliant, is scalable and doesn’t rely on control panels.
As usual with these contracts, due to the sensitive nature of the agreement the agency on the receiving end of Freedom is remaining unnamed.
