Veridium Launches New Authentication Solution with Behavioral Biometrics

Veridium has announced the launch of InMotion, a new VeridiumID software platform that enhances mobile security with behavioral biometrics. The solution is geared towards businesses and individuals, and builds a behavioral profile to supplement other forms of biometric authentication.

InMotion specifically focuses on the act of authentication itself. Whenever you use a fingerprint or facial recognition to unlock your phone, InMotion gathers data from the motion sensors in your device. After ten authentications, it analyzes the patterns and establishes a baseline for the future. If something is off, InMotion flags the authentication attempt and can then ask for additional verification or bar access to the device in unusually suspicious cases.

“A malicious actor that has someone’s phone and their fingerprints – or even similar facial features – will have an extremely difficult time trying to replicate their unique mannerisms,” said Veridium Head of Product Development Ionut Dumitran. “By tapping into the power of behavioral biometrics, Veridium InMotion can help businesses strengthen authentication in a way that is both transparent and frictionless for the user.”

In a recent survey, Veridium found growing support for biometric authentication in the workplace. InMotion is an effort to deliver a convenient and effective product for that market, adding an extra layer of security to reduce the risk of data breaches.

Companies like BioCatch are already using behavioral biometrics to secure financial transactions and guard against vishing fraud. Veridium’s announcement suggests that there is still growing demand for these kind of solutions in the enterprise sector.
