In this video interview recorded at ISC West 2021 in Las Vegas, Anton Nazarkin, the Head of Global Sales for VisionLabs, gives FindBiometrics Media Sales & Strategy Manager Doug OGorden a detailed look at the company’s expanding computer vision portfolio. He explains how VisionLabs has supplemented its facial recognition technology with object and behavioral recognition algorithms, and how the company is getting into the hardware game to deliver all of those features in a single comprehensive package. Most notably, he shares some details about the company’s LUNA POS device, a new payment terminal that will support both card and face-based transactions.
Along the way, Nazarkin offers some insights on the state of liveness detection, noting that the software demands can change based on the sensors and equipment that are available. He argues that facial recognition is finally able to live up to its initial promise, and that the number of use cases will expand as developers find new applications for the technology.
