Verint Systems has acquired fraud prevention and identity solutions provider Victrio in order to bolster its workforce optimization offerings with voice biometrics. Victrio, specializing in call center management and fraud detection, will add passive security to Verint customers, but also, thanks to the passive nature of its recognition technology, add another data stream for the company’s analytics services.
“This acquisition extends our offering and introduces a host of advanced capabilities that will enable us to offer our customers an even more comprehensive solution to address fraud and identity authentication problems head on,” explains Elan Moriah, president of Verint Enterprise Intelligence Solutions and Video and Situation Intelligence Solutions.
The capabilities he is describing are Victrio’s predictive voice analysis that can authenticate a speaker on the phone without interruption or prompting. This allows for passive fraud detection that can be a real boon for organizations susceptible to criminals choosing to gain access to credentials or money by means of phone. Large financial management institutions, banks and card issuers are the main targets for this kind of fraud and passive voice authentication is frictionless and constant.
