Veriff has rolled out a major upgrade to its Veriff for Marketplaces product, expanding the platform into a full-lifecycle trust suite designed to handle identity verification and fraud prevention across both sides of dual-sided digital platforms, from gig economy and mobility apps to e-commerce and creator communities.
The updated offering is built around the challenge that marketplace platforms face when they must simultaneously verify high-risk providers or earners, such as delivery drivers and rental hosts, while applying lighter-touch verification to buyers or consumers without driving drop-off. Veriff has combined several of its core verification products into a single, modular package: identity document verification, biometric authentication, advanced liveness checks, profile image capture, and unstructured document processing for supplemental materials like insurance certificates or bank statements.
Powered by Veriff’s adaptive Workflows engine, the suite allows platforms to configure different verification flows based on user type, regional regulatory requirements, and individual risk profiles. The product is now available globally, positioning it for use in markets with varying compliance demands.
Raul Liive, Director of Product for Marketplaces at Veriff, described the upgrade as moving beyond discrete identity checkpoints: “We aren’t just checking IDs; we are providing a unified system for sustained platform trust.” The approach reflects a pattern Veriff has developed across its recent product work, including its layered verification partnership with Data Zoo, where combining multiple signals into a single verification flow reduces friction while strengthening fraud detection.
Starship, a gig delivery platform that uses the product, cited the integration as critical for entering new markets and verifying age-restricted deliveries autonomously. The company’s involvement points to the breadth of use cases the upgraded suite targets: anywhere a platform relies on ongoing trust between parties who have never met in person.
Veriff reported 75 percent revenue growth in Q4 2024, with particular strength in Latin America, where volumes grew 2.5 times. The marketplace segment has been a focus as the company positions vertical-specific bundles as a commercial strategy alongside its core IDV platform.
The upgrade was developed in close collaboration with Veriff’s existing customer base, which spans gig economy operators, mobility providers, e-commerce platforms, online rental communities, and creator sites.
