Veriff announced a partnership with Data Zoo to offer a layered identity verification approach for organizations in regulated sectors, emphasizing fraud prevention in fintech environments facing AI-enabled attack methods.
The partnership combines Data Zoo’s authoritative global data assets with Veriff’s AI-native verification platform to deliver stronger fraud detection with lower friction by integrating multiple verification signals rather than relying on a single control point.
The collaboration extends Veriff’s trust infrastructure approach that integrates verification, liveness detection, and authentication into a unified system. The strategy aligns with industry recommendations for multi-layered verification systems combining document checks, biometrics, and behavioral analytics.
Positioning is aimed at regulated and complex operating environments, especially financial services and fintech onboarding and compliance contexts. The stated objective is stronger fraud detection by combining multiple verification signals at different stages of customer interaction.
The partnership responds to deepfake fraud threats escalating in fintech, which Deloitte projects could reach $40 billion in losses by 2027. Layering document and biometric checks with authoritative data-network signals is becoming a common anti-fraud architecture as synthetic identities, deepfakes, and identity orchestration attacks increase in onboarding and transaction flows.
Veriff has expanded through platform partnerships including integration with Regula’s document verification reference data, announced in October 2024.
