Veriff has optimized its identity verification platform for use in the HR industry. The Veriff HR solution is designed to make it easier for businesses to evaluate potential hires and confirm the identities of job applicants in an increasingly remote work environment.
In that regard, Veriff believes that its solution is ideal for businesses that want to conduct an international hiring process. The company’s identity platform can recognize identity documents in virtually every country and every US state, and uses facial recognition to ensure that the document belongs to the person filling in an application. The platform asks people to take a selfie to make sure they can be matched to their document.
According to Veriff, the HR solution will automate and streamline certain aspects of the hiring process, which will in turn reduce costs and staffing requirements. To that end, the platform can extract personal information from identity documents, and autofill that information on hiring forms. In doing so, Veriff eliminates the need for manual data entry and minimizes the risk of human error.
“As fraud and online deception increases globally, organizations across industries will need to work even harder to build trust and confidence between their employees and customers,” said Veriff Co-Founder and CPO Janer Gorohhov. “Businesses need to take the necessary steps to ensure that applicants are truthful about their identity and work history while leaving no room for human error in their HR processes.”
Veriff noted that fraud rates have gone up during the COVID-19 pandemic, as people and enterprises have started doing more business through digital channels. The company released its Face Match solution for selfie onboarding in April of 2021, and has already entered the HR industry through a partnership with Deel, which provides businesses with hiring and payroll services. Deel is using Veriff’s tech to help spot forged and manipulated identity documents.
