Veriff has received FIDO Alliance Document Authenticity Certification for its Full Auto Identity Verification solution, becoming one of the first identity verification providers globally to secure third-party validation under the FIDO DocAuth framework.
The evaluation was conducted by Ingenium Biometric Laboratories, a FIDO-accredited laboratory based in the UK that also holds accreditation as a testing partner for NPSA critical national infrastructure and carries ISO/IEC 17025, 19795, 30107, and CEN TS 18099:2025 accreditations. The assessment covered 19 document types across 12 countries, including Brazil, Mexico, India, the UK, and the US, spanning passports, driver’s licenses, and identity cards. Testing confirmed that Veriff’s Full Auto IDV product can verify government-issued identity documentation, match IDs with selfie images, and defend against forged documents and face morphing, without any human intervention.
The FIDO DocAuth framework is part of the broader FIDO Identity Verification program and is grounded in ISO industry standards. Romain Moisescot, Director of Product, Identity at Veriff, said an independent, standardized benchmark is “the way to give customers something they can trust” and that passing the evaluation across 19 document types from 12 countries without human intervention “sets a new baseline for what automation alone can deliver.” He added that Veriff’s Hybrid IDV product, which adds trained verification specialists for complex cases, delivers even higher accuracy. Dr. Chris Allgrove, Co-founder of Ingenium Biometric Laboratories, said FIDO certification sets “a rigorous, independently validated bar for identity verification performance” and that the evaluation tested Veriff “across a broad and diverse range of genuine and false documents.”
Andrew Shikiar, Executive Director and CEO of the FIDO Alliance, said verification of government-issued IDs is “a critical front door to digital services” and that Veriff’s certification marks “an important step in maturing the global ecosystem for trusted, interoperable identity.” The certification builds on the foundation established when FIDO launched its certification program for face-based remote IDV and follows the path taken by other companies, including InVerid, which joined the FIDO Alliance to advance NFC document authentication standards.
Veriff is an AI-native identity platform serving financial services, marketplaces, mobility, and gig economy sectors. The certification builds on recent organizational developments at the company, including Veriff’s appointment of Rob Brazier as Chief Product Officer in March as the company pursues a broader platform strategy.
