Veridos and Credence ID have unveiled the VeriCHECK M500+, positioning it as an all-in-one verification device designed to authenticate both digital and physical identification documents. The solution addresses the growing need for seamless ID verification as mobile credentials, like mobile driver’s licenses (mDLs), become more prevalent alongside traditional IDs.
The VeriCHECK M500+ integrates E-Seek by Veridos’s established physical credential reader—already used by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at over 220 airport locations—with Credence ID’s Tap2iD digital verification platform. The combination enables secure authentication of digital IDs using Near Field Communication (NFC) and QR code technologies, adhering to the latest ISO mDL/mID standards.
The device is compatible with popular digital wallets, including those from Apple, Google, and Android, offering flexibility for both government and commercial applications.
“Our goal is to provide superior identity verification products,” said Corinna Schindler, Managing Director of E-Seek and Veridos Global Vice President. “This collaboration allows us to offer best-in-class solutions for both physical and mobile verification to government and commercial businesses, meeting today’s needs while preparing for the future.”
Key features of the VeriCHECK M500+ include stand-alone operation requiring only power and a network connection, instant on-screen verification results, and remote management capabilities that allow administrators to monitor, update, and configure the device remotely. The device is designed to be plug-and-play, operating both online and offline to ensure continuous service.
“We’re excited to offer a hybrid solution that verifies both physical and digital IDs on a single platform,” said Bruce Hanson, President & CEO of Credence ID. “Customers want the convenience of using their digital IDs just as they do with physical cards, and this ‘all-in-one’ ID verifier makes that possible.”
Last month, Credence ID announced the expansion of its mobile driver’s license (mDL) verification platform to support digital IDs from Ohio, New York, and Virginia, enhancing the platform’s ability to verify individuals across multiple states and international jurisdictions.
In addition to broadening its state coverage, Credence ID also integrated the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) Digital Trust Service (DTS), ensuring the authenticity of mDLs by managing trust certificates from issuing jurisdictions.
