Veridium and Jumio have joined forces to provide customers with more comprehensive identity verification capabilities. To that end, the new Trusted Digital Identity solution will offer support for multiple biometric modalities, including face and fingerprint recognition.
The joint platform is able to support both internal and external applications. Businesses can add it to their internal systems to authenticate remote employees gaining access to various workplace materials, or integrate it into consumer-facing apps to fulfill their Know Your Customer obligations. In either case, the platform can match a face to the image on a photo ID, and confirm the authenticity of the document itself.
As strategic partners, Veridium and Jumio are hoping to reduce the amount of fraud that organizations face during account setup, and during subsequent access requests. The new platform is designed to be as flexible as possible, allowing organizations to configure their workflows and choose the modalities that fit their own authentication preferences.
“We are happy to partner with Veridium to offer a complete biometric identity verification solution for markets and industries where both technologies are mandated,” said Jumio CRO Dean Hickman-Smith.
“The combined strength of Jumio and Veridium delivers exceptional levels of identity assurance as well as performance through our combined multimodal biometric approach,” added Veridium CEO Ismet Geri. “Our groundbreaking solutions help prevent fraudulent system access saving organizations millions of dollars as well as meet regulatory compliance.”
Veridium previously introduced a vFace system in February of 2020 that was designed to enable face-based identity verification on mobile devices. The company has also been developing a behavioral biometrics system that leverages information from the sensors on mobile devices.
Jumio, meanwhile, recently formed a separate strategic partnership with Copper River IT in an effort to raise its profile in the public sector. Before that, the company augmented its Jumio KYX onboarding solution with iProov’s liveness detection technology.
