Veridas has opened two new offices in North America in an effort to grow its business on the continent. The first office is located in Mexico City, while the second is located in San Francisco and will serve as the company’s base of operations in the United States.
The news is not all that surprising given Veridas’ early success in the Latin American market. The Spanish company is already providing biometric onboarding technology for four of the top ten banks in Mexico, and it has also established an office in Colombia to extend its reach in South America. The two new offices will help support those current operations, with dedicated sales and support teams for clients in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Brazil, and beyond.
The new offices will also make it easier for the company to attend conferences and trade shows in the Americas, which will in turn raise its profile with potential clients in the region. The company already has plans to attend the RSA Conference and Expo Seguridad in June, and will be present at the Money20/20 show in October and the Open Finance show in November.
“With our arrival in the United States and Mexico we want to continue deploying a future without keys and passwords, to improve the lives of citizens throughout America,” said Veridas CEO Eduardo Azanza. “Having already performed more than 70 million identity verifications for leading companies in different sectors and the Public Administration in several countries, we are convinced that we have solid technology, capable of growing globally.”
Veridas was founded as a BBVA and das-Nano joint venture in 2017, though both backers increased their investments in November of 2020. The company offers voice and facial authentication services to support remote banking applications, and its biometric technology has performed well in NIST and iBeta evaluations. Moving forward, the company will try to optimize its technologies for the North American regulatory and commercial environments.
