Veridas, a Spain-based technology company specializing in digital identity and biometrics, has announced its new membership in the Security Industry Association (SIA), a leading trade association for global security solution providers. The membership aims to create a mutually beneficial relationship, allowing SIA members to leverage Veridas’s specialized knowledge in biometrics, particularly in face and voice recognition technologies. In return, Veridas gains access to SIA’s extensive industry network and resources.
The Security Industry Association (SIA) is a prominent organization that aims to promote success in the global security industry by providing education, certification, standards, and advocacy. Veridas sees this membership as a valuable platform for networking and collaboration within the security industry. The company plans to leverage SIA’s influential events and advocacy to shape policies and regulations favoring the ethical and responsible use of biometrics and security technologies.
Veridas’s CEO, Eduardo Azanza, emphasized the transformative opportunities in the security industry and the company’s vision for a future that is both passwordless and keyless. “Becoming a member of SIA enables us to work collaboratively towards excelling the industry’s capabilities and promoting responsible use of advanced technologies,” said Azanza.
This membership comes on the heels of Veridas joining the Open Identity Exchange (OIX) in August. The OIX is a non-profit entity dedicated to expediting the integration of digital identity services that adhere to open standards. Veridas aims to form strategic alliances and share its specialized knowledge in biometrics with other OIX community members as well.
Founded in 2017 as a joint venture with BBVA, Veridas has become a leading global player in the identity industry, serving over 250 clients across 25 countries in sectors such as banking, insurance, telecommunications, and public administration. The company focuses on the “Phygital” identity concept, combining physical and digital identity verification for a seamless user experience. Its modular solutions include fully proprietary facial biometrics, voice biometrics, and identity document verification technologies.
