Vecna Technologies has released a new HealthPass Mobile App that is designed to streamline patient-facing aspects of the healthcare system. The App will allow patients to use a mobile device to check in for an appointment before they get to the clinic, and to fill out COVID-19 questionnaires and any other forms that may be required as part of the intake process.
According to Vecna, the App will reduce the administrative burden on clinical staff, and deliver a better user experience for patients. Those who use the app will receive text notifications ahead of an appointment or a bill deadline, and can set up a payment plan and make payments directly through the app. Healthcare staff, meanwhile, can use the dashboard to configure the patient workflows, and to view analytical data about their patients and their practice.
For patients, the app consolidates calendars, images, and contact information in one centralized location. It also has geofencing capabilities to enable an automatic check-in when a patient gets to their clinic destination. The app itself is secured with device-based facial recognition to protect patients’ personal information.
“HealthPass is an extension of our digital patient intake portfolio,” said Vecna Technologies CEO Deborah Theobald. “The app empowers patients with a convenient, contactless experience to safely pre-register and check-in for appointments.”
Vecna unveiled the app during this week’s HIMSS 2021 Global Health Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas, roughly a year the company released a mobile companion app for its Patient Self Check-in platform. That app was originally slated to appear at HIMSS 2020, though Vecna moved forward with the release after that event was canceled due to COVID-19.
The new HealthPass Mobile App indicates that the company is still prioritizing mobile technologies. Vecna has advocated for the use of contactless check-in systems during the pandemic, and will be displaying its latest offering from August 9-13 at Booth #437-24 in the HIMSS Consumerism and Patient Engagement Pavilion at the Caesars Forum.
