HYPR has released the latest iteration of its flagship Cloud Platform. Version 6.7 comes with some basic security and performance improvements, and also introduces a new feature that allows roaming users to use their own mobile device to sign into any machine tied to the company domain.
The roaming user feature is designed to simplify device and account management. Under the old system, employees would need to link their device to each separate workstation they use throughout the day. With the new system, users can simply scan a QR code with the HYPR app to unlock any machine connected to the company network. The solution minimizes the administrative load because employees only need to create a single account, and no longer need to re-register their device each time they switch to a different computer.
According to HYPR, the solution is ideal for companies that do not have assigned seating or assigned workstations for their employees. To further streamline the onboarding process, Cloud Platform 6.7 utilizes dynamic magic links that take the user’s device into account during registration. For example, a user opening an account on a mobile device will be sent to the HYPR app, while a user on a desktop will be sent to the platform’s Device Manager page.
Cloud Platform 6.7 also offers support for Feitian’s K9 security keys. The Feitian keys can be used for passwordless authentication in accordance with the latest FIDO protocols.
The UK’s Oxbury Bank recently deployed HYPR’s Passwordless Customer Authentication solution to protect its iOS and Android OxP banking platform. That news came shortly after HYPR launched a new Velocity Partner Program to help drive sales of its various products. In April, the company integrated Redrock’s Palm ID palm authentication technology into its own Cloud Platform to provide its customers with more contactless authentication options.
