Union Biometrics is supplying facial recognition and fingerprint access-control technology for AI data center projects in North America and Europe, taking a physical-security business it built at home in South Korea into overseas markets. The company has partnered with the French data center firm Data One, which is constructing new data centers in New Jersey and Indiana where Union Biometrics’ access-control systems will be installed, and the two are also pursuing data center projects across Europe.
The work centers on controlling who can enter sensitive parts of a data center. Under the partnership, Union Biometrics is providing an integrated biometric security platform built for data center access control, user authentication, and secure-area access management. Inside facilities that house AI computing infrastructure, those layers govern entry to server halls and other restricted zones, tying physical access to a verified identity rather than a card or code alone.
The push reflects rising demand for hardened physical security as AI data centers multiply, since operators of large compute sites must account for who can physically reach the hardware. Union Biometrics is building on an established home market: in South Korea it has supplied facial recognition and fingerprint access control to major data centers and telecommunications operators, and it says it plans to keep expanding that high-security work across data centers, telecommunications facilities, and national critical infrastructure, using facial recognition, fingerprint authentication, mobile access credentials, and integrated access-management platforms.
The company joins a competitive field of biometric access-control suppliers, where vendors have been advancing dedicated entry hardware, as with Suprema’s BioStation 3 Max terminal with an EAL6+ secure element. For data center operators, the appeal of face and fingerprint controls is a record of exactly who entered a secure area and when.
Union Biometrics is pursuing additional data center deployments in Europe as the projects progress.
