TypingDNA has expanded the reach of its behavioral biometrics platform, announcing that it’s now available on mobile.
The authentication system revolves around the analysis of users’ typing patterns in particular, though an update this past spring added extra security in the form of support for One Time Passcodes. TypingDNA has now applied its AI-driven behavioral biometrics technology to the mobile keypad, with its system available on iOS, Android, and Facebook’s React Native mobile app framework.
In a statement announcing the development, TypingDNA CEO Raul Popa explained that it was a response to the growing use of mobile devices and strengthening mobile authentication requirements in areas such as financial services. In bringing keystroke biometrics to mobile, “we ensured enabling our clients to deliver a mobile-first approach in authenticating their users,” he said. “Innovative account security is provided with an unprecedented accuracy based on proprietary AI technology, making typing biometrics a good fit for authentication in a secure and customer-friendly way.”
TypingDNA says its platform is already being used in the areas of financial services, insurance, and online learning. Bringing it to mobile platforms may open the door to even more applications going forward.
The company plans to showcase its expanded solution at the Gartner Identity & Access Management Summit 2019 event, which is scheduled to run from December 10th to 12th in Las Vegas.
