Typing Biometrics Specialist Celebrates Hackathon Winners with a Poem

TypingDNA is having some fun with the recap of its recent Hackathon. The behavioral biometrics specialist announced the Hackathon in September, offering more than $10,000 worth of prizes to the teams that made the best use of the company’s authentication API.

The company has now shared the results, and has also gone on to record the accomplishments of the seven winners in rhyming verse. Those winners were selected from a group of 28 finalists, which was in turn pulled from a pool of more than 600 original entries.

The event’s top three prizes went to (in order) Typdf, Dissociative Journal, and Biowallet. Typdf uses typing patterns to create a secure document signature, and took home the Popularity prize in addition to the first place honors. Dissociative Journal offers sentiment analysis, while Biowallet protects cryptocurrency wallets from viruses and other forms of malware.

Four other entrants were recognized in a series of special categories. ChatAppNoDrive took the Social Impact prize with a solution that notifies recipients when someone is texting while on the road, while Among Us took the Devpost Community Award with a solution that can identify imposter posts on social media. ProctorPro was the Business Potential winner with its online learning tool, and eHealth App had the WOW Factor with its dermatomyositis tracking solution.

“Each of the Judges had their own preferences and we spent a good while arguing over which deserved the prizes,” said Hackathon Judge and Developer Community Advocate Michelle Sandford. “In the end, TypingDNA decided to give out a few more prizes, just to pacify the judges – but even so, there were so many entrants that worked hard to produce solutions and we wished we could have told them all how impressed we were with the work they had done.”

TypingDNA set up the Hackathon to encourage the adoption of typing biometrics. The company has since unveiled a free Developer plan to accelerate the development of new use cases for the technology.
