Passive authentication specialist TypingDNA has announced the launch of the research phase of its TypingDNA Focus app, a new solution that is meant to help users gain a better understanding of their state of mind in order to improve productivity.
The development of Focus can be traced back to 2016, when TypinDNA began training its core, proprietary artificial intelligence algorithms to analyze human typing behavior in order to better understand their interactions with their devices, and to transform typing patterns and habits into metrics and data.
In a press release announcing the development of Focus, TypingDNA points to a study conducted by the Anxiety and Depression Association of America that shows that stress over longer periods of time can lead to mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression. The company also notes a World Health Organization (WHO) report that warns that depression — which today affects more than 16 percent of the global population — is slated to become a primary reason for disability worldwide by the year 2030.
Through its ongoing work with Focus, TypingDNA aims to help individuals to better understand how and when they are focused in order to gain visibility and control over the most stressful parts of their day.
Focus will also give insights based on typing behavior and offer a look at weekly trends, a daily activity breakdown, and metrics that indicate focus levels and immediate mood analysis.
