Twenty20 Updates Object Recognition Tech, Plans Facial Recognition Capabilities

Twenty20 Solutions is making a series of improvements to its computer vision platform. The company has already upgraded its object recognition and classification capabilities, and plans to introduce new features like facial recognition and mask detection in the not-too-distant future.

The updated object recognition tech will allow companies to use surveillance cameras to watch for suspicious activity, and to track specific items, equipment, and events. In that regard, the more accurate classification system will do a better job of identifying genuine objects of interest, thereby reducing the number of false alerts by as much as 90 percent. That, in turn, will reduce administrative workloads because employees will not need to spend as much time clearing unwanted notifications.

Twenty20 has also strengthened its License Plate Recognition technology to capture plates moving at higher speeds. The system can be configured to send an alert whenever it spots a vehicle that has been placed on a watchlist.

The company’s impending facial recognition tech will similarly be able to watch for persons of interest in real time. Motion detection and vehicle classification are some of the other features expected to arrive in early 2021, in addition to PPE detection. The latter will help ensure that people are wearing masks, hard hats, and other mandatory protective equipment. Mask detection has become a particularly popular feature in the past few months, as businesses search for ways to enforce public safety guidelines during the pandemic.
